INTERVIEW: Konieczny grateful to Shrewsberry for opportunity
Sports Michiana sits down with Notre Dame men’s basketball veteran and Saint Joseph High School alum JR Konieczny as the Irish get set to start a new season.
Notre Dame men’s basketball veteran and Saint Joseph High School alum JR Konieczny is beyond grateful that Micah Shrewsberry gave him an opportunity to show what he could do last year.
In his first two years under Mike Brey, the 2nd leading scorer in the history of St. Joseph County, never came close to see the playing floor. Shrewsberry came in and could have cleaned house. Instead he gave Konieczny a chance to not only be on the team but to start and contribute in a major way.
Sports Michiana sat down with JR to discuss that opportunity, staying healthy, a new season for him & his team and the emergence of Markus Burton.
Notre Dame opens the regular season November 6th at home against Stonehill.
