Irish women crush Eastern Michigan
(Notre Dame) — The Notre Dame women’s basketball team can only hope its final exams off the court are as easy as their last one on the court.
Sunday, the Irish shot an amazing 68% from the field, including 16-of-24 from three-point range, crushing Eastern Michigan, 118-49. Notre Dame set the team single-game scoring record, breaking a mark (113) set back in 1989 against Liberty. They also tied the school record for most points in a half, building a 61-20 lead by intermission.
Hannah Hidalgo led the scoring assault with 27 points. Emma Risch added 23, including nailing seven of the squad’s 16 three-pointers. Cass Prosper tallied 20, while Liatu King recorded another double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Notre Dame takes a 9-2 record into finals week and won’t play again until next Sunday, when the Irish entertain Loyola of Maryland.
