LaVille’s boys and Bremen’s girls reign as champions of the 2025 Bi-County basketball tournament.

Collin Czarnecki buried a three with 2.7 seconds remaining as LaVille knocked off #5 Triton, 39-37, in Saturday night’s championship game at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium in Lakeville.  The victory avenged a one-point loss to the Trojans just 18 days ago, as the Lancers raise their overall record to 10-5.

Eliana Grubbs scored 14 points and earned tournament MVP honors as Bremen conquered John Glenn for the girls championship, 42-29. Coach Alex Robinson’s Lions are now 19-2 on the year with the sectional draw tomorrow.

In other boys action Saturday

  • Freshman Caleb Coolman tallies 32 as Penn beats its second ranked team of the weekend, topping IBCA #19 Fort Wayne Wayne, 67-66.
  • 3A #1 St. Joe uses 24 points from Nick Shrewsberry to down #4 NorthWood, 72-60. Tyler Raasch scored 33 points with 11 rebounds for the Panthers.
  • Steven Reynolds had the same stat line for Washington…33 points, 11 boards…as SB Washington cruised past Jimtown, 82-58.
  • Luke Bricker and Brandt Martin combine for 45 points as #6 Warsaw wins its eighth straight, downing FW North, 79-57. The Tigers face NorthWood Friday on Sports Michiana

On the girls side
