Area girls basketball stars garner All-State honors
(Indianapolis) — Several players from the Sports Michiana area were accorded special honors from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Thursday.
The “Supreme 15” is the top honor awarded, and players were voted to that group without regard to school size. The Large School and Small School all-state teams are secondary accolades — the Large School group including players from Class 3A and Class 4A schools and the Small School group including players from Class A and Class 2A schools. Players who make the Supreme 15 are not considered for Large School or Small School honors.
The South Bend Washington duo of Monique Mitchell and Kira Reynolds, along with Warsaw’s Brooke Winchester, were named to the Supreme 15 Senior team.
The Warsaw tandem of Joslyn Bricker and Brooke Zartman was named to the Supreme 15 Underclass squad.
The Large School Senior All-State team includes Rielyn Goodwin of Northridge, Jessa Troy of Penn and Ryiah Wilson of South Bend Washington.
Bremen’s Kila Foster was named to the Small School Senior All-State squad.
Michigan City Marquette’s Laniah Davis and Westville’s Hilary Labis were tabbed as members of the Small School Underclass All-State squad.
