And that’s a wrap on the Notre Dame men’s basketball season.

After winning three of their last four games, the Irish were dominated from start to finish falling to North Carolina 76-56 in the 2nd round of the ACC Tournament Wednesday afternoon in Charlotte.

Notre Dame ends its 2nd season under Micah Shrewsberry at 15-18 overall.

After winning in four overtimes over Cal Saturday on Senior Day and then beating Pitt 55-54 in Tuesday’s opening round, the Irish ran out of gas against 5th seeded North Carolina, which was playing its first game of the conference tournament.

The Irish shot just 32% from the field for the game and trailed 17-5 after just five minutes of action. Notre Dame closed to 22-15 with under nine minutes to play in the 1st half but the Tar Heels pushed the lead to 14 by halftime. Notre Dame never got back within single digits again.

Marcus Burton led Notre Dame with 11 points but shot just 3-11 from the field. Tae Davis had 9 points on 3-13 shooting.

Senior JR Konieczny scored 7 points off the bench.
