(West Lafayette) — Former South Bend Washington basketball star Rashunda Jones announced on X (formerly Twitter) Monday that she is leaving the Purdue basketball program and entering the transfer portal.
Jones closed her statement by writing “After countless tears and careful consideration, I’ve decided to enter my name in the transfer portal for more opportunities and the betterment of myself.”
Jones averaged nearly 10 points per game for the Boilermakers in her sophomore season, dishing out 3.7 assists per game and hauling in over three rebounds per contest. She is the sixth Purdue player to transfer this off-season.
Two of those players are Jones’ former Washington teammates, Mila and Amiyah Reynolds. All three players have a status of “do not contact” in the portal. In addition, another Reynolds sister, Kira, de-committed from Purdue.
