Penn rallies to edge Mishawaka in Backyard Brawl Classic

Colden Hernandez rushed for two touchdowns and the Penn Kingsmen rallied from 16-0 down to defeat their arch rival Mishawaka in a Backyard Brawl instant classic.

The Cavemen jumped out a 16-0 1st quarter lead thanks to a 1st drive touchdown, safety and a 60 plus yard TD run from quarterback Landon Snyder. Penn scored back-to-back TDs in the 2nd quarter before Mishawaka got a field goal to close out the 1st half. Mishawaka led 19-13 at halftime.

Brayson Hurley gave Penn its first lead of the game in the 3rd quarter as the Kingsmen went up 20-19. Mishawaka kicked a field goal early in the 4th to go back up 22-20.

That’s when Hernandez blasted off a 31 yard touchdown to put the Kingsmen up for good. That was our Big C Lumber Big Play of the Game and Hernandez is our Reliance Player of the Game.
