Irish women dominate Chicago State

Hannah Hidalgo and Cass Prosper combined for 60 points, outscoring Chicago State by themselves, as the Notre Dame women’s basketball team rolled to a 116-58 win Sunday at Purcell Pavilion.

Hidalgo finished with 32 points, eight assists, eight rebounds and four steals.

Prosper had the best game of her career with a career high 28 points and career high eight steals to go along with seven rebounds.

Notre Dame was red hot from the get go jumping out to a 35-14 lead after one quarter. The 35 points was the most the Irish have scored in a single quarter since March of 2022. Their 62 points in the 1st half were the most in any 1st half in nine years.

KK Bransford also scored a career high with 21 points. Vanessa de Jesus and Gisela Sanchez added 15 and 11, ensuring that all five Notre Dame started scored in double figures.

Saint Joe High School alum Kelly Ratigan scored six off the bench.

The Irish are now 2-0 on the season and will host Akron on Wednesday.
