(Notre Dame) — Marcus Freeman and his staff are making up for lost time.
With the semester opening at Notre Dame this week, the Irish made three more additions to the roster from the transfer portal on Tuesday, making it a total of seven players brought in over the last two days.
Pitt defensive tackle Francis Brewu, Ohio State wide receiver Mylan Graham and Purdue kicker Spencer Porath will all be wearing the Irish uniform next season.
Brewu fills a need at defensive tackle, after earning all-ACC honors at Pitt last year. The 6-1, 280-pound defensive tackle is listed among writer Bruce Feldman’s athletic freaks, as he benches 480 pounds and squats 680. That strength showed in the interior of Pitt’s defensive line last season, where Brewu made 36 tackles, 20 quarterback pressures and seven tackles for loss.
Graham was a five-star recruit for Ohio State, but languished behind Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate on the Buckeyes depth chart last year. The New Haven alum from Fort Wayne caught six passes for the Buckeyes last year in a redshirt freshman season. Graham is the third northeast Indiana native who is slated to suit up for head coach Marcus Freeman in 2026. North Side grad Tae Johnson is coming off a breakout season at safety, while Snider alum Brandon Logan recently wrapped up his freshman year with the Irish.
Porath is a Brownsburg, Indiana native who kicked for Purdue the last two seasons. He was 15-17 on field goals last season with a long of 53, and a perfect 24-24 on extra points.
Marcus Freeman will meet the media Wednesday afternoon in a press conference at the stadium. It will be the first time he has spoken to local media since National Signing Day on December 3.
