(Syracuse) — After serving seven seasons as an assistant coach, Mark Osmialowski is getting his chance.

Monday night, Wawasee athletic director Brent Doty announced that Osmialowski would be hired as the Warriors’ head football coach, pending board approval.

Osmialowski has been the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Warriors, while teaching physical education at the high school. He’s an alum of Cloverdale High School and Manchester University.

“I am honored and excited to become the Head Football Coach at Wawasee,” said Osmialowski. “The tradition, pride, and support within this community is special. I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships with our players, staff, and families as we work to develop a
disciplined, competitive, and resilient football program.”

Osmialowski inherits a challenge, as Wawasee has won only six football games in the last five seasons and has not had a winning season since 2014. Last season, the Warriors went 1-9 under Matt Thacker, recently hired as the head coach at LaVille.
