Hidalgo, Miles lead #3 ND past UNC
(Chapel Hill, N.C.) — The Dynamic Duo is at it again.
Hannah Hidalgo and Olivia Miles each buried five three-pointers and combined for 43 points as #3 Notre Dame stayed perfect in ACC play with a 76-66 win over North Carolina here Sunday afternoon.
Hidalgo racked up 24 points, five assists and three steals, while Miles added 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Notre Dame raises its record to 12-2 overall with its seventh straight win.
The game also marked a return to action for Notre Dame forward Maddy Westbeld. The graduate student missed the first 13 games of the season with a lingering foot injury. Westbeld did not attempt a shot in 13 minutes of action.
Notre Dame shot a sizzling 13-of-21 from 3-point range, making up for 21 turnovers.
The Irish are back in action Thursday evening at Purcell Pavilion, facing Wake Forest. The game has been moved up to a 5 p.m. start, so as not to conflict with the football team’s appearance in the Orange Bowl that night.
