Wawasee’s Mishler wins gold twice at IHSAA State Swimming Championships
Wawasee senior Julie Mishler capped off her incredible career by winning two individual golds at the IHSAA State Swimming Championship Saturday, including setting a new state record in the 100 freestyle.
Mishler won the state championship in the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.86 seconds, breaking her own record she set the night before in prelims. She also won the state title in the 50 free.
Her Wawasee teammate Addison Beasley won the Mental Attitude Award.
As a team, Wawasee finished 9th in the meet. Penn was the only local team to finish higher at 7th. Carmel won the team state championship with Carroll finishing runner up.
