Before Friday night’s Northern Indiana conference championship game, there was plenty of talk about the new tiebreaker based on point differential.

Riley silenced that talk quickly.

The ‘Cats sprinted out to a 10-point lead after one quarter and never looked back on the way to a 67-39 whipping of Penn to claim the conference crown for the second straight season.

“The guys played well and played with a lot of passion,” said Riley coach Alex Daniel afterwards. “This senior group has been special. For them to go out like this and be conference champs makes it really special.”

Junior Isaiah Packer drained four 3’s and led the way with 18 points, while B.J. Williams added 15 and Jaylen Barbera tallied 11 with eight assists and six rebounds.  Riley is now 17-4.
