A year ago, Concord and Warsaw had two outstanding battles—both decided by four points or less–including an instant classic in the 5A Sectional Championship Game.

We are expecting similar vibes with the two Northern Lakes Conference foes square off Friday night at Fisher Field in Warsaw in our Sports Michiana Game of the Week.

Concord defeated Warsaw in the regular season meeting at Jake Field last year 28-24 on their way to an undefeated regular season and an NLC Championship. Warsaw returned the favor with a 31-28 win in the Sectional Championship game handing the Minutemen their only loss in 2024. The Tigers went on to reach the 5A State Finals.

It’s a must win game for the Minutemen if they want to repeat as conference champions as they sit at 1-1 in league play following a loss to Mishawaka and win over Northridge. Warsaw is 2-0 so far in NLC play with wins over Goshen and Wawasee.

Both teams are ranked in the Top 10 in Class 5A.
