Sectional Championships don’t get much bigger than the one that will take place Friday night at Freed Field as #5 Penn (10-0) hosts #2 Crown Points (10-0) in the 6A Sectional Title Game in our Sports Michiana Game of the Week.

Crown Point has ended Penn’s season each of the last two years. In 2023, it was a 34-33 Crown Point victory in regionals in what would turn out to be the final game in the career of legendary Penn coach Cory Yeoman. The Bulldogs would go on to play for the state title. Last season, Crown Point dominated 35-0 in the sectional final, ending year one of the Pete Riordan era.

Both teams are coming easy first round sectional wins. Penn rolled 55-7 over winless Portage while Crown Point cruised to a 35-7 win over Lake Central.
