Braedon Shrewsberry scored 19 points and Markus Burton added 13 points and 4 steals as the Irish men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 102-70 win over Detroit Mercy at Purcell Pavilion Friday.

Notre Dame had a balanced attack overall with six different players reaching double figures. Carson Towt produced another double double as he had 11 points and 10 rebounds along with a team leading five assists.

The Irish led 44-31 at halftime before blowing the game open in the 2nd half. Notre Dame shot 52% from the field and made 14 3-pointers on the night. They also overcome another turnover filled game. The Irish finished with 20 turnovers.

Sir Mohammed, Ryder Frost and Brady Koehler each scored 10.

Notre Dame wore their “The Bend” jerseys that pay tribute to the city of South Bend.
