Goshen all senior starting lineup withstood a big Marian comeback in the 2nd half as the RedHawks jump started a new season with a 51-41 win over Marian in our Sports Michiana Game of the Week.

Levi Sawatzky scored 15 points to lead Goshen. He was our Reliance Player of the Game.

Goshen is now 1-0. Marian drops to 0-2.

The game got off to an unusual start when long time Marian coach Robb Berger was ejected in the 1st quarter over his disagreement over a call on the court. Marian star Prescott Horvath, who led all scores with 18 points, picked up a 2nd foul and Goshen built the lead to 15 in the 2nd quarter.

Marian came storming back in the 3rd quarter and closed the gap to within 1 but Goshen pulled away in the 4th for the win.
