(Notre Dame) — “The Ten Commandments” doesn’t air on TV until Easter Saturday, but the exodus has already begun from the Notre Dame men’s basketball program.

Guard Sir Mohammed and forward Garrett Sundra both announced their entry into the portal Tuesday.

Mohammed was a top 50 recruit coming out of high school in Charlotte two years ago, but a knee injury his freshman year sidelined him quite a bit.  This year, he was one of just four Irish players to be on the floor for every game, averaging 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. Mohammed was not a good shooter, hitting just 42% overall, 29% from 3 and a meager 54.5% from the foul line.

The 6-11 sophomore Sundra started 16 games for the Irish last season, but made a marginal impact. He averaged 3.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, and was yanked from the starting lineup at the midpoint of the year.

More transfers are expected, as there are much greater NIL opportunities at other schools. The South Bend Tribune’s Tom Noie reported on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday night that one rotation guy making $150,000 with Notre Dame last year will make more than a million dollars once he leaves the portal.
