It was a beautiful September Friday for high school football around the Sports Michiana coverage area.

In the Sports Michiana Game of the Week, Northridge running back Kane Yeater ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns, as 4A #10 Northridge raised its record to 5-0 with a convincing 28-11 win over 5A #7 Concord.

The Raiders are tied with Warsaw for the Northern Lakes Conference lead. The Tigers won the W trophy, beating Wawasee, 38-7, while amassing 334 rushing yards.

In the Northern Indiana Conference, #5 Saint Joseph pulled away in the second half to beat John Adams, 24-10. Sam Scicchitano threw three touchdown passes to lead the way.

The upset of the night is turned in by Jimtown, which capitalized on Bremen turnovers to knock off the 2A #10 Lions, 44-22. Jimtown shares the league lead with Tippecanoe Valley, which crushed LaVille, 40-3. Jimtown and Tippecanoe Valley collide next Friday night on Sports Michiana.

In Michigan, Louis Rome’s 45-yard pick-six with two minutes left helped Berrien Springs knock off Lakeland Conference foe Buchanan, 30-20. In the Wolverine Conference, Gio Orue runs for 263 yards and three touchdowns, as Edwardsburg goes to 4-0 with a 21-14 win over Paw Paw.
