(Plainwell, MI) — The philosopher Cicero once said “nothing is harder to achieve than perfection”

The St. Joseph (MI) boys soccer team still has it in their sights.

Owen De Jong scored the game-winner in the second half, as top-ranked St. Joseph ousted Dexter, 1-0, to win the Division 2 Regional Championship at Streidl Field.

Remy Kelm started the scoring sequence for the Bears with a free kick to Evan Searles, who in turn made a beautiful pass on the left side to Evan Hudak. Hudak blasted a kick towards the right post and a streaking De Jong finished it off to account for the game’s lone tally.

Coach John Brown’s Bears, now 22-0, meet Holland (13-1-4) in the state semifinals next Wednesday night in Grand Rapids.
