Irish men’s basketball team fall at home to Elon 84-77
Notre Dame men’s basketball’s solid start to the season crashed hard at Purcell Pavilion Friday night as the Irish lost to Elon 84-77.
It’s the first loss of the season for Micah Shrewsberry’s squad (4-1).
Notre Dame led by one with 1:42 left in the game only to see the lead slip away as Elon made its final four shots while the Irish limped to the finish making just 2 of their last 11.
Markus Burton scored 25 and Braedon Shrewsberry added 22 in the loss.
The first loss comes at extremely difficult part of Notre Dame’s schedule as they head into the Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas next week where they will play back-to-back top 25 games against #24 Rutgers and #7 Houston.
