Penn upsets #1 St. Joe to highlight prep basketball Friday
Penn entered the night just above. 500. St. Joseph was ranked #1 in Class 3A. None of that seemed to matter at The Palace Friday night.

Triton and LaVille advanced to the finals of the Bi-County tourney. Jason Groves’ 5th-ranked Trojans crushed Argos, 65-29, while LaVille needed overtime to get past longtime rival Bremen, 58-48. Collin Czarnecki scored 21 to lead the Lancers. into Saturday night’s title tilt.
On the girls side, Westview used 12 points from Bre Cory to upset longtime rival Fairfield, 46-40. It’s the Lady Warriors’ first win over Fairfield since 2019.
