McKim leaving New Prairie for Lowell
Sports Michiana can confirm Casey McKim is leaving New Prairie to become head football coach at Lowell.
Ken Peterson 1st reported the news.
McKim had a tremendous 5-year run at New Prairie, going 48-17 in that time frame. He led the Cougars to four straight sectional championships, two regional titles and a trip to the state finals in 2022.
McKim took over for the legendary Russ Radtke in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. The first season wasn’t a great one as the Cougars went just 5-5. Then things picked up in a major way as McKim led New Prairie to a 11-3 season in 2021, including a regional championship win over his now new team Lowell 28-14.
New Prairie followed up that season with an even better year in 2022, going 13-2 and winning Semi-State. The Cougars lost to East Central 37-7 in the 4A State Finals that season.
A 3rd and 4th straight sectional title came in 2023 and 2024.
McKim’s hiring at Lowell is pending school board approval.
