ND women adding former St. Joe star
(Notre Dame) — Kelly Ratigan played her high school basketball at St. Joseph High School and was named the 2022 Northern INdiana Conference girls basketball MVP.
Now she’ll continue her collegiate career just a few blocks from where she played her high school ball. According to ON3Sports, Ratigan will transfer from Loyola, Maryland to Notre Dame, joining Niele Ivey’s squad for her senior season.
Ratigan, the daughter of Notre Dame orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brian Ratigan, played in only three games her junior year before suffering a season-ending injury. As a sophomore, she averaged 8.4 points per game for the Greyhounds, draining 53 three-pointers. Her season was highlighted by a 23-point performance against St. John’s.
The three-point shot has always been part of Ratigan’s arsenal. She was second in the state in made three-pointers during her senior season at St. Joseph, where she set the school girls basketball scoring record.
Ratigan becomes the seventh player on a rebuilt Notre Dame women’s basketball roster.
