Irish to play Wisconsin at Lambeau in 2026 Shamrock Series
(Green Bay, WI) — It’s namesake is a 1918 Notre Dame alum. Now the stadium that bears Curly Lambeau’s name will finally play host to his collegiate alma mater.
The University of Notre Dame announced Wednesday that Lambeau Field will be the site for Notre Dame’s “Shamrock Series” game with Wisconsin on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Considered a “home game” for the Irish, the game will be televised by NBC/Peacock.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in 2020 and was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The game is the second installment of the two-game series with Wisconsin, the first of which was played at Soldier Field in 2021, a 41-13 Notre Dame win.
The home of the NFLs Green Bay Packers, Lambeau has played host to just two college football games in its history: St. Norbert vs. Fordham in 1983 and Wisconsin vs. LSU in 2016.
The Shamrock Series began in 2009 when Notre Dame started to ‘take a home game on the road’ in San Antonio. have hosted 12 Shamrock Series games across the country, including NFL stadium for Washington, Chicago, Indianapolis and Dallas, as well as the Major League Baseball venues of Yankee Stadium and Fenway Park. Notre Dame is 12-0 in “Shamrock Series” games.
