NJSP alum Shepherd promoted to varsity boys hoops coach
(North Judson) — Kaden Shepherd, a 2016 North Judson alum, has been promoted to become the varsity boys basketball coach at his alma mater.
Shepherd had served as both the JV and 6th-grade boys basketball coach under Kent Chezem, who stepped down in June.
Shepherd played for Phil Shabi during his Blue Jays prep career. He then attended Purdue Northwest in Hammond, where he served as a student assistant coach. He has also worked as an instructor for Point GUard College while working as a teacher in the North Judson system.
He inherits a program that went 9-14 last season, but won the Class 2A regional championship in 2024.
