Wes Pritchett discusses ND-USC in 88, Holtz Influences, Family & Faith
On the October 13th, 2025 edition of Notre Dame Federal Credit Union’s Irish Football Fix, host Angelo Di Carlo chats with Notre Dame’s leading tackler from the 1988 national championship team, Wes Pritchett in our Focus on Faith interview.
Pritchett gives a great reflection on #1 Notre Dame’s battle with #2 USC in 1988 and what it meant to be a part of a national championship team.
He played for Lou Holtz at Notre Dame in the 80s and explains how he’s used the lessons he learned from Coach Holtz to help raise his three boys. He also explains how his boys have developed a strong faith as a result and how that’s helped strengthen his own faith. Wes’ two oldest are current playing at Georgia Tech and Alabama.
We close the conversation talking about the ND-USC rivalry and the possibility of it ending after next season.
