Irish men improve to 3-0 with 20 point win over Eastern Illinois

Markus Burton scored 21 points, Braedon Shrewsberry had 18 and freshman Jalen Haralson had the best game of his young career as the Irish men’s basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 78-58 win over Eastern Illinois Tuesday at Purcell Pavilion.
Haralson, a prized 5-star recruit, made every shot he took from the field–going a perfect 6-6. He was 5-6 from the free throw line and finish with 17 points overall. He also had five rebounds, 3 assists and a steal.
Notre Dame led 31-28 at halftime before pulling away in the 2nd half.
Despite leading the team in scoring, Burton was 8-19 from the field including just 1-6 from 3 point range. Shrewsberry, meanwhile, dropped six trifectas and was 6-9 from the field overall.
Carson Towt had 8 points and 11 rebounds.
The Irish go on the road to Ohio State Sunday at 12:30pm.
