RedBud’s storied legacy around the 4th of July has served as the perfect complement to the dynamic layout of one of American motocross’ premier venues.

The track challenges riders with a little bit of everything – high speeds allow riders to hang it out, big obstacles like LaRocco’s Leap send bikes soaring through the air, and some of the most technical sections in the championshipIn the 450SMX Class, the sibling rivalry between Honda HRC Progressive teammates Jett and Hunter Lawrence is expected to continue. RedBud opened in 1973, and has been owned by the Ritchie family the entire time. Siblings Tim and Amy Ritchie are co-owners now and the improvements they have made over the years have made the venue even better.

They’ll have a star-studded and competitive field coming on Saturday. In the 450SMX Class, the sibling rivalry between Jett and Hunter Lawrence is expected to continue. They have an equal share of victories after the first month of racing and return from the break separated by just two points.  Jett may have the advantage here. having won two of the last three years at Red Bud.

The 250SMX class is wide open, with four different winners in the first four races of the season. Levi Kitchen’s advantage in the standings is just a single point over defending Red Bud champ Jo Shimoda and just two points over Julien Beaumer.

Races begin just after 1 p.m. Saturday, lasting all afternoon.
