Four players from the Sports Michiana coverage area were named to Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association All-State teams unveiled July 4th.

In Class 4A, Goshen’s Braxton Cline was selected as the all-state shortstop. The Red Hawks star batted .479 with four homers and 39 RBI, while stealing 24 bases. His excellence helped guide JJ DuBois team to a Northern Lakes Conference and sectional championship

New Prairie’s Reed Robinson is the 3A All-State catcher.  The Northern Illinois commit batted. 505, belting six homers and driving in 28. He also stole 20 bases while leading Mark Schellinger’s Cougars to Northern Indiana Conference and sectional titles. In fact, Robinson was named the NIC MVP.

In 2A, Rochester’s Carson Paulik was named as one of two all-state pitchers. The Taylor commit posted a 4-2 record on the mound, with a brilliant 0.81 ERA. He fanned 79 batters in just 52 innings, walking a mere 12.

Triton’s Drew Bingamon represents the area on the 1A team. Bingamon made the squad as both a pitcher and outfielder. The senior was the spark plug to the Trojan offense,  batting .490, with 47 hits, 46 runs scored and 25 stolen bases.  On the hill, Bingamon went 6-0 with a sparking 0.63 ERA. The workhorse struck out 89 batters in 66-2/3 innings pitched, walking only 10.
