(South Bend) — The Saint Joseph basketball team has churned out Division I talent over the last decade with JR Konieczny going to Notre Dame, and his brother, Chase, committing to Florida Gulf Coast.

Now Eric Gaff has another D1 commit.

Guard Elijah King announced on X (formerly Twitter) Saturday night that he was taking his talents to Eastern Michigan University in 2027.

The senior has already scored 1127 points in his three-year career. A key player on the 2025 3A state championship team, King exploded in his junior season, averaging 19 points and five rebounds per game. He’s also a tenacious defender who averages over two steals per game.

King becomes the first Saint Joseph alum to play basketball at Eastern Michigan since Chris Knaub in 2006.
