(Mishawaka) — Even as a freshman, you could tell Penn’s Mason Biernacki was going places. Now that he’s a junior, he knows where he’s going.

Tuesday night, Biernacki verbally committed to play baseball for Indiana University.

“I chose Indiana because of the way they develop hitters at such a high level and the culture of their team,” Biernacki told Sports Michiana.

The speedy outfielder led the Kingsmen last season with a .404 batting average, belting three homers with 25 RBI.  He’s a tremendous clutch hitter, batting .484 with runners in scoring position last year after putting together a .538 RISP average as a freshman.  His ppeed is also an asset, as Biernacki stole 23 bases in 30 games last season.

Biernacki is the latest in a long line of Penn Division 1 baseball players. He’s also a standout wide receiver on the undefeated Kingsmen football squad.
