Notre Dame is ranked 4th and Indiana is ranked 9th in the 2nd last College Football Playoff Rankings.

If the playoffs started today, the Irish would be seeded 6th and host 11th seeded Alabama either December 20th or 21st at Notre Dame Stadium. The winner would then face current 3-seed & projected ACC Champion SMU in the quarterfinals.

If the playoffs started today, Indiana would be seeded 10th and be on the road at 7th seeded Georgia to opening up the College Football Playoffs. The winner would then face current 2-seed & projected SEC champion Texas.

While teams like Notre Dame and Indiana will not play again before the playoffs, there are still shakeups that could happened based on what happens in the conference championship games this weekend.

A reminder that the top 4 seeds in the 12 team playoff must be conference champions. Thus, while seeded 4th, Notre Dame cannot be seeded any better than 5th.

#9 Tennessee at #8 Ohio State (winner to face #1 Oregon)

The College Football Playoffs opening round will take place on Friday, December 20th and Saturday December 21st. The Friday game will be an 8pm kickoff on ABC & ESPN. Saturday will feature Noon & 4pm kickoffs on TNT and an 8pm kickoff on ABC & ESPN.

The final bracket will be unveiled this Sunday after the conference championship are completed.
