(Notre Dame) — It has been a miserable January for Notre Dame’s men’ basketball team, and for one half Saturday night, it looked as though the misery would continue.

The Irish found their offensive mojo in the second half, shooting 50 percent in the stanza and rallying from 13 points down to down Boston College, 68-64, at Purcell Pavilion.

Notre Dame snaps a five-game losing streak and raises its record to 11-9 overall, 2-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Boston College falls to 9-11, 2-5.

Back-to-back three-pointers from Braeden Shrewsberry and Brady Koehler capped a 10-0 run early in the second half to get the Irish back in the game. Then with seven minutes left, a Carson Towt flop led to a foul and technical to be called on Boston College. Towt and Cole Certa made all four free throws as Notre Dame built a seven-point lead.

That advantage had dwindled to two points with 1:26 left when Shrewsberry drained a 24-footer for three more of his game-high 22 points. Shrewsberry and Certa each hit a pair of free throws to seal the win.

Freshman Jalen Haralson scored 17 to help the Irish cause.

Notre Dame prepares for a visit from #14 Virginia on Tuesday night. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. with the game broadcast on ESPN2
