Former NorthWood star Nitro Tuggle transfers to Purdue
(West Lafayette) — Former NorthWood star Nitro Tuggle will now be playing his college football closer to home. The wide receiver has transferred from Georgia to Purdue.
As a freshman for the Bulldogs last season, Tuggle caught three passes for 34 yards, including two for 25 yards in a win over Tennessee. Tuggle entered the transfer portal in December, but returned to Georgia and played against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl.
In March, Tuggle was suspended by Georgia coach Kirby Smart after being arrested for reckless driving, posting a speed of 107 mph in a 65 mph zone. Tuggle subsequently re-entered the transfer portal.
Tuggle was a four-star recruit at NorthWood High School, helping the Panthers to the 4A state championship game in 2023. In his senior season, Tuggle caught 95 passes for 1,449 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Purdue plays at Notre Dame on Saturday, September 20th.
